Supply Chain Analyst:HQ Resources

Job Description:

Position Summary

As a Supply Chain Analyst, you will be responsible for collecting, assembling, manipulating, normalizing, and utilizing data from multiple sources and organizations for benchmarking, analysis, goal/target development, and results/performance reporting. The Supply Chain Analyst will also be responsible for providing data interpretation and serve as a resource to both internal and external constituencies; in conjunction with various Supply Chain initiative teams to support the achievement of defined objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Build financial/mathematical/statistical models to support contract proposals, bids, scenarios. 30%
* Build models flexible enough to measure various compliance levels throughout the system.
* Model structure to include variances for pricing structures, tiers and list price scenarios.
* Models to allow for multiple vendor scenarios.
* Include all rebates, other incentives, inventory offers, administrative fees as well as discounts.
* Document methodology for easy updates and modifications.

Supply Chain Solutions analysis of client spend vs. hospital and GPO contract portfolios. 25%
* Perform portfolio analyses to compare client spend across multiple databases.
* Generate opportunity lists for Members based upon cost analyses.
* Prepare presentations for senior management to present findings to multiple Member Committees.

Perform contract proposal analysis to determine financial benefit to the system. 20%
* Gather pertinent data to determine proposal value to system. Data to include historical usage, price and financial impact of both prior and proposed contract.
* Assist Contract Administrators (CA) and Contract * Negotiators (CN) with contract analyses to assure maximum return prior to award.
* Perform routine contract follow-up analysis to assure performance.
* Work with management in developing performance measurement of both contracts, customer satisfaction and spend analyses.

Assist KHC staff in the development of appropriate contract/bid performance measure indicators. 15%
* Present the Corporate Contracting (CC) staff with the data analysis tools necessary to develop bids, contract analysis.
* Analyze contracts to determine additional opportunities for maximization and advise management when appropriate.
* Compare contract performance to budget to assure contract integrity.
* Assist management in requests for detailed spend analyses and the development of tools for future use.


Assist in determining discrepancies between financial statements and Corporate Contracting (CC) prices. 10%
* Source data to compare spend levels between financial statements and CC prices.
* Determine reason for discrepancy--price, volume or product mix.
* Work with CA/CN to determine if product conversions or technology changes occurred during periods in question.
* Calculate impact of product mix changes, cross reference with functionally equivalent items.

Required Skills and Abilities
* Possess analytical skills with demonstrated knowledge of analytics from an operational perspective.
* Ability to identify specific, actionable opportunities by analyzing complex sets of data.
* Ability to understand the underlying details of complex projects while being able to explain the appropriate level of detail to varying levels of management.
* Ability to manage and communicate progress on multiple, simultaneous projects while meeting defined milestones and enterprise expectations.
* Ability to work effectively with Senior Management, Directors, Managers and Teams.
* Ability to effectively utilize the business, analytic, spend visibility, sourcing, and materials management applications.
* Possess advanced skills and background in the use of Excel, to include formula programming and pivot table outputs along with data summary functions and visualizations.
* Preferred experience and background in the use of JMP, SAS, R. MATLAB, SATA, and/or SPSS software preferred. Understanding of data automation processes and techniques is also preferred.
* Ability to apply mathematical and statistical techniques to the effective use of data.
* Seeks to understand customer needs and works to exceed their expectations.
* Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
* Preferred experience working with large groups and C-Suite executives.
* Must have positive attitude and bring energy to the team environment.

Required Education and Experience
* Education: BS or equivalent degree/Masters preferred in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Management, Supply Chain, or related field.
* Minimum of 1-3 years analytical/contractual experience. Willing to consider less experience with advanced degree. Experienced in healthcare, supply chain, financial or project management is preferred; in addition to a general knowledge of contractual language and legal terminology.
* Must have demonstrated data management and analysis skills.
* Proficient in both verbal and written communication.
* Experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
